Von 1996 an studierte Ronny Friedrich Physik an der Universität Heidelberg, wo er 2003 sein Diplom erhielt und 2007 im Bereich der Umweltphysik promovierte. Nach 6 Jahren PostDoc und Leitung eines Labors an der Columbia University in New York City, führt Ronny Friedrich seit 2014 die Datierungslabore an der CEZA und ist seit 2022 Teil der erweiterten Geschäftsleitung am CEZA.
